Design Thinking Workshop

Recognizing the importance of user-centric design and the role of empathy in product development. The Pocket Mobile Team underwent training to enhance their skills in conducting research and analyzing data, aiming to foster a deeper understanding of user needs and preferences. By empowering the team with these capabilities, the goal was to promote a more user-centered approach to product building, enabling them to feel more connected to the users they serve and ultimately improving the overall quality of the product.

Background

  • Assess user needs and desires by investigating why users turn to Pocket, how they utilize the platform, and what motivates their return visits.

Research Objectives

  • Enhance user empathy and product understanding by inviting users to walk through their Pocket usage, providing valuable insights into their interaction with the platform. Empower the Pocket Mobile Team with research and data analysis training to foster a deeper connection with users and a more user-centered approach to product development.

  • Moderated 2:1 User Interviews

  • Mix of demographics to ensure a diverse voice

Methodologies

  • By incorporating real voices into our research and development processes, we humanize our understanding of user experiences, ensuring that our products resonate authentically with our diverse user base.

Impact

  • Through direct engagement with users, we cultivate empathy within our team, fostering a deeper understanding of user needs, motivations, and pain points. This empathy drives us to develop solutions that genuinely address user concerns and enhance their overall experience.

  • Step outside the tech world silo: By breaking free from the confines of the tech world silo, we broaden our perspective and gain fresh insights from diverse voices and experiences. This enables us to challenge assumptions, innovate more effectively, and create products that are truly inclusive and accessible to all users.
